[lang_ie]Bhí an ócáid is déanaí ag Cumann Galf Choiste Gairmoideachais ar siúl ar an Satharn 19ú Bealtaine ar chúrsa Cumann Galf Bealach Féich & Srath an Urláir. Bhí lá deas ann ar thaobh aimsir agus tháinig 26 ball i láthair le glacadh páirt sa chomórtas. Bhí sin go maith mar is cosúil go raibh cúpla duine a mbíonn ann de ghnáth as láthair.
Ag deireadh an lae bhí ainm úr ar bharr an liosta – sin Marcel Mc Cafferty a chríochnaigh le scór iontach 40 pointe. Seo scór ar dóigh ó fhear atá ag feabhsú leis agus a bhí fós ag ceiliúradh a lá breithe le gairid fós ar an uimhir chéanna (40). Tá Marcel ag obair sna hOifigí Riaracháin do chuid an CGDnG i Leitir Ceanainn. Sa dara háit ar an lá bhí Mary Walsh le 37 pointe agus bhí Johnny Sweeney ó Bhun an Phobail sa tríú háit. Ag leanúint iadsan ag an deireadh bhí Alex Harkin (36 pointe), Martin Gallen (35 pointe) agus Sean Murphy (34 pointe).B’é seo an ócáid deiridh roimh laethanta saoire an tsamhraidh agus anois tá am ag gach duine fáil réidh agus cleachtadh le haghaidh Ócáid Duais an Captaen Paddy Mc Daid a bheas ar siúl ag Cumann Galf Leitir Ceanainn i mí Meán Fómhair.(Dé Sathairn 15ú lá)
Míle Buíochas arís do Chumann Galf Bealach Féich & Srath an Urláir as an fáilteach agus an bia srl a cuireadh ar fáil ar an lá. Bhain gach duine sult as an lá.[/lang_ie]
[lang_en-uk]The latest outing of the Golf Society of the Donegal VEC took place recently (19th May) at Ballybofey & Stranorlar Golf Club. The weather was sunny and the turnout of 26 members was excellent, particularly in light of several stalwart members not being able to make it. At the finish there was a new name on top of the leader board – with Marcel McCafferty finishing with a great score of 40 points. This was an excellent return for an ever improving Marcel who has also recently celebrated a birthday with a similar figure (40). Marcel works in the Admin Offices of the VEC in Letterkenny.
Second place on the day went to Mary Walsh on 37pts just pipping Moville’s Johnny Sweeney into third place. Following that were Alex Harkin 36pts, Martin Gallen 35pts and Sean Murphy 34pts.
This was the final outing before the summer break. It allows time now for everyone to practice and prepare for Captain Paddy Mc Daid’s prize at Letterkenny Golf Course which is scheduled for Saturday 15th September. Many thanks again to Ballybofey & Stranorlar Golf Club for their welcome and facilities on the day. A great day’s golf enjoyed by all.[/lang_en-uk]
