Our school, Coláiste Ailigh, has won a Medal for New Buildings at the 2017 UIA Friendly & Inclusive Spaces Awards. The International Union of Architects (UIA) is the overarching global professional body for architecture.
Administrated by the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland, the awards recognise and promote inspiring examples of inclusive design – from buildings and public spaces to research. The awards ceremony will take place at the UIA World Congress in Seoul in September. Coláiste Ailigh was built by BAM Ireland and designed by McGarry Ní Éanaigh Architects under the Schools Bundle III PPP Scheme. It previously won best 2014 Best RIAI Education Building and an Architectural Association of Ireland Award.
