Changemakers invite you to our annual seminar on 28 April. It will be opened by Joe McHugh, T.D., hosted by RTE’s Eileen Magnier and the keynote speaker is Lillian Seenoi from North West Migrants. The theme of this year’s seminar is ‘One World, One People’, exploring migration in the current global context. Funded by Irish Aid, Change Makers is a Development Education project with the aim of raising awareness of local and global development issues among adults throughout County Donegal. There are three project partners; Donegal ETB, Inishowen Development Partnership and Gorta Self-Help Africa. Now in its fifth year, the project offers a broad range of activities. Workshops to date have covered many topics including bees, seeds, water, migration, consumerism. gender equality, climate justice. Formal education opportunities are also offered – QQI Level 4 in Local and Global Development Awareness and QQ Level 6 in Global Development. Other creative projects have included an environmental art project, a social justice quilt and a photography competition. Every year an annual seminar is held looking at a different development education theme.
