The Donegal Education and Training Board Service recently held its annual presentation ceremony of certificates in the Central Hotel in Donegal town.
Over 200 adult learners from across the county were presented with QQI Certificates. The certificates were awarded at levels three, four, five on the National Framework of Qualifications. There were also presentations of certificates for the Leaving Certificate, Junior Certificate and skills for work. There were recipients present from Ballyshannon, Donegal Town, Stranorlar/Ballybofey as well as other outreach locations in the county.
Ms Crona Gallagher, Director of Further Education & Training with Donegal ETB welcomed all guests and thanked the Donegal Abbey Singers for coming to open the awards ceremony with their wonderful rendition of ‘A Nations Voice’ recorded earlier this year with the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra as part of the 1916 celebrations.
Ms Anne McHugh, Chief Executive Officer of Donegal ETB paid tribute to the staff of Donegal ETB and congratulated all recipients. She stated ‘that it was never too late to embrace the provision of Further Education and gain new skills in a changing economic environment’.
Ms Gina Grant, Chairperson of Donegal ETB, then presented certificates to each of the two hundred plus recipients.
Donegal ETB would like to also extend a big thanks to guest speakers on the evening Ms Deirdre McGlone – Donegal person of the year, Joe O’Donnell- Social Biz and Charlie Boyle – Customer Service Excellence Ireland.
There followed a social evening and photographs as recipients had a chance to recognise their achievement with family and friends.
