QQI Level 5 Major Award – Career Traineeship in Hospitality
The programme aims to provide learners with knowledge, skills and competence in the art of hospitality, and to work independently under supervision in a range of key areas in a hospitality enterprise.

QQI Level 4 Major Award – Hotel and Front Office Skills Ballyshannon, Stranorlar and Milford
Donegal ETB run a level 4 Hotel and Front Office Skills programme in three locations in the county. This course is offered on a part time basis in each location and allows learners to achieve a QQI Major award at level 4. As well as the accredited modules the programme is also designed to give participants an overview of the hospitality and tourism industry through a variety of practical training and integrated education and field visits to prospective employers. Learners will also complete their work experience in a host company allowing for the possibility of employment on successful completion of the programme. Learners will also get visits from industry and additional training in customer service and Social Media Marketing
On successful completion of the programme, participants should be well-equipped to find employment in a broad range of hospitality, tourism and catering establishments. With the development of the Wild Atlantic Way and the expected increase in visitor numbers to Donegal it is anticipated that an increase in employment opportunities will exist in the coming years. For those individuals wishing to continue their education and training, the ETB has a number of progression options available at QQI level 5 and above on both a part time and full time basis.

QQI Level 4 Major Award- Catering Support- Letterkenny
The 30 week full-time programme aims to provide learners with the skill, knowledge and competence to work under supervision providing assistance and support within a catering setting. The training will be in both a classroom situation with practical experience in the kitchen leading to progression and a career in Hospitality or Catering.
On successful completion of the programme, participants should be well-equipped to find employment in a broad range of catering establishments. With the development of the Wild Atlantic Way and the expected increase in visitor numbers to Donegal it is anticipated that an increase in employment opportunities will exist in the coming years. For those individuals wishing to continue their education and training, successful completion of this programme will allow participants to apply to entry to the level 5 programme in Hospitality Operations in Killybegs.
