On behalf of Donegal ETB, I would like to offer my sincere congratulations to all of the Leaving Certificate students in our fifteen Schools/Colleges and the thirteen adult learners from our Letterkenny Adult Education and Training Centre who sat their exams in June and today receive the results of their hard work. It takes a tremendous effort from all the students including their parents, families and teachers who have supported them and helped them through the whole experience.
I wish the best of luck to everyone applying to further their studies or going directly into employment. For those students and learners who feel that they did not achieve the results they wanted, there are a number of options. First talk to the Guidance Counsellor in your school or centre – they will be able to outline your options which may include repeating some exams. There are many different ways to achieve your goals and being creative in mapping your path is an excellent learning experience in itself.
I would also like to remind students and learners that Donegal ETB offers a wide range of Further Education and Training (FET) courses in thirteen centres across the county, many of which you can apply for online through www.fetchcourses.ie. Further information is also available on our website www.donegaletb.ie.
Additionally, the National Parents Council post primary have set up a help line manned by trained guidance counsellors and is open for the next six days to assist any students who are concerned about their results. The helpline number is Free Phone 1800 265 165.
