Bhí foireann na gcailíní fós ón Charraig go hiontach, go háirithe ar ais sna rásaí sealaíochta agus bhain siad gach rása ansin. Bhí Captaen na gCailíní, Eilish McShane an-bhródúil as an fhoireann críochnú sa tríú háit agus tá sí féin agus an fhoireann ag tnúth go mór leis na rásaí trialacha an contae do na Comórtais Ríochta Aontaithe atá ann anois i mí an Mhárta.
Bhí sé, áfach, na buachaillí ón Charraig a bhí ar ndóigh cosúil leis an fhoireann níos sine CLG ar an lá céanna a d’fhág é go dtí an nóiméad deireanach le honóracha an Contae a bhaint amach agus ba é Captaen na mBuachaillí, Gary Molly a thóg an trófaí cinnte le hiontas siocair an iomaíocht ach fós le bród ar lá maith oibre déanta.[/lang_ie]
[lang_en-uk]An exciting first year County Sportshall athletics competition was hosted this year by Carndonagh Community School. In a very hotly contested and thrilling competition with teams from Carndonagh Community School, Abbey Vocational, Buncrana, Errigal College, Pobail Scoil Gweedore, Rosses Community School, Colaiste na Carraige and St. Colombas, Stranorlar it was the minnows from Colaiste na Carraige who took the boys trophy. Competing over nine events Carricks students left it until the relays to really shine.
The Carrick girls team were superb in their baton changing, winning all of their relays. Girls Captain Eilish McShane was very proud of all of her teams efforts in finishing third overall. She and other members of her squad are looking forward to county trails for the UK championships which take place in March.
It was however the boys from Carrick who like their older team mates in GAA left it to the last minute to take County honours and Gary Molly, (Boys captain) held aloft the trophy as much in surprise at the outcome of a tight competition as much as with pride in a job well done.[/lang_en-uk]
