[lang_ie]Ag coinneáil leis an traidisiún, tá le feiceáil arís an t-ionchur atá ag Coláiste na Carraige agus na baill nua peileadóirí atá tagtha chun tosaigh d’Fhoireann Pheile an Contae – sé sin Seaimpíní Peil Sinsearacha CLG 2012. Leanann Mark McHugh agus Paddy McBrearty na laochra ó 1992 – Martin agus James McHugh (sin athair agus uncail do Mark), Noel Hegarty agus John Joe Doherty agus anois tá an Phríomhduais – Corn Sam Mag Uidhir arís sa Chontae don dara huair.
Thosaigh Mark agus Paddy ag imirt peil ar ndóigh leis an chlub áitiúil Cill Charthaigh agus leis an scoil – Coláiste na Carraige. Bhí Mark mar cheannródaí don fhoireann shinsearach na scoile i 2008/09 agus bhí scileanna agus stíl a chuid imirt agus an cheannasaíocht atá aige mar fhachtóirí iontach sa bhua sin. Bhí Paddy fós mar lántosaí ar an fhoireann an bhliain sin agus lean seisean ar aghaidh le 3 bhua ina dhiaidh a chéile a bhaint amach don scoil i 2009 agus 2010. Bhí 2010 mar an bhliain is stairiúla don scoil mar bhí an bua F-14, F-16 agus Sinsearach go hiomlán bainte amach faoi stiúradh Gareth Doherty, Patrick Boyle agus Noel Ward. Sa bhliain 2011 bhí Paddy McBrearty mar dhuine den ghrúpa peileadóirí éilíte a d’imir ag leibhéal mionúir agus sinsir don chontae ar an lá céanna. Lena chois sin, bhí Paddy ar fhoireann an Contae nuair a bhí lámh an uachtair acu ar Chorcaigh sa chluiche cheannais don Leibhéal Gairmscoile i Márta 2011. Bhain sé seo uile amach agus é sa scoilbhliain acadúil roimh don Ardteistiméireacht a dhéanamh níos luaithe i mbliana, 2012.
Cinnte, bhí an scoil i gcónaí ag spreagadh a gcuid éachtaí spóirt ach fós bhain Paddy agus Mark amach caighdeán acadúil arda agus anois tá an bheirt ag leanúint sa tríú leibhéal. Tá foireann na scoile, daltaí an lá inniu agus an pobal ina iomláine iontach bródúil as na iar-scólairí seo, déanann gach duine comhghairdeas leo agus guímid gach rath orthu beirt sa todhchaí. Ba mhaith leis an scoil fós comhghairdeas a dhéanamh le iar-scólaire eile, sin Rory Gallagher agus an taitneamh, greann agus ardú mothúchán atá tugtha do gach duine, óg agus aosta, leis an bhua agus an ócáid le gairid lena amhrán “Jimmy’s Winning Matches”. Maith thú, a Rory agus ádh mór ort le do dheis ghairme sa cheol.

[lang_en-uk]In keeping with tradition Colaiste na Carraige have once again provided key members in an All-Ireland winning Donegal team. Mark Mc Hugh and Paddy Mc Brearty followed in the footsteps of past pupils Martin and James Mc Hugh, Noel Hegarty and John Joe Doherty in helping Donegal achieve the ultimate prize.
The lads taste for success began when playing for their club Kilcar and the school. Mark spearheaded the school’s senior winning team of 2008/2009. His running game, footballing skills and inspirational leadership were major contributing factors to that success.
Paddy also starred at full-forward that year. He went on to complete a memorable 3 in a row with the school senior team in 2009 and 2010 when they won the county vocational schools titles. 2010 was the most successful year in the schools footballing history. That year the school won the U-14, U-16 and Senior titles, with Gareth Doherty, Patrick Boyle and Noel Ward respectively at the helm.
In 2011 Paddy Mc Brearty famously joined an elite group of players who represented their county at both minor and senior on the same day. In addition Paddy also won an All-Ireland Vocational school medal in March of 2011, when Donegal defeated Cork in the final. All this was achieved in his pre-Leaving Certificate year in Coláiste na Carraige.
While encouraging their sporting achievements, it should be noted that Paddy and Mark have had great success academically and gone on to third level. The whole school community is incredibly proud of both past-pupils, we congratulate them and wish them all the very best in the future.
We would also like to congratulate another past pupil, Rory Gallagher, whose song “Jimmy’s Winning Matches”, has added immensely to this All-Ireland Success and to the enjoyment and fun of the occasion. Well Done Rory your music has brought great joy to all Donegal followers. We wish you continued success in your musical career.
